SACC Technical Center Students Place Second in State Ford/AAA Hands On Competition

Paul Reeme from Junction City High School and Blake Allen from Parkers Chapel  High School went to Batesville and the Mark Museum to compete as one of ten teams in the state in the Hands On portion of the Ford/AAA Automotive Skills contest, this past Friday.  For the second year in a row, the team placed 2nd in the State.  Although they will not compete in the National competition  in Dearborn, Michigan, their second place finish is a demonstration of high quality, disciplined and contemporary skills mastery in Automotive Service Technology.  They received a large trophy and several small trophies, as well as scholarships and tools for their effort.

Doyle Manis and Karsten Tidwell advised and trained these young men well.  The Ford/AAA competition is one of the toughest, most thorough automotive competitions available to high school automotive students.  The team beat out teams from Rogers, Saline County, Waldron and other major contenders to achieve the 2nd place trophy, behind Huntsville.

These students and their advisors are to be greatly commended for their achievements.
